The four of them have known each other for years, and feed musically from the 90´s grunge-alt-metal heritage. They make music that is dramatic, elastic, melodic and strong. The band came to life in the summer 2003, by Henkka, Heikki and Piritta. Ville joined the band a year later, and fit in perfectly. They played a bunch of gigs to test themselves, and released a promo EP “Nothing a Whole As A Broken Heart” in the summer 2005. Feedback was very good, and some labels were interested in signing them, but they didn’t get a good enough deal with anyone. They decided to make an album with their own TRC-Records label. “Falling to Pieces” was released by TRC November 6 th 2006, and it went on single charts number 2 highest. The Album “Nothing As Whole As A Broken Heart” came out on January 31st. 2007 and went on Finnish chart number 24. The album got well and widely reviewed in the Finnish media, and the band visited several shows after the album release, including MTV´s Headbangers Ball. The album Nothing... was distributed by Playground International,and got released in 25 countries.The band has a reputation of intensive and groovy live performer, and they have a heavy live sound for a pop-metal band. The bassist Ville "Mr Willy " Mäkinen of the Bombfunk MC´s was replaced with Klasu Wirzenius in October 2007 due to practical problems.The band toured Germany and Switzerland in November 2007 with Lovex, and a lot of Finland with bands like Teräsbetoni, Sara, Entwine and Apulanta. Manzana got signed a record deal with Tampere based metal label Dynamic Arts Records on March 2008, and around the same time, the long-time drummer Heikki Malmberg left the band, for being able to concentrate on his own solo project and Diablo. Manzana got a new drummer Tomi Ylönen from the Evil Spirit of Elias Viljanen to play the rest of the songs in the studio, and the second album Babies Of Revolution was released on September 2008. The new album went on chart number 28. and Manzana was back on track and touring Finland and some Baltic countries with it. After tour Tomi was taken in for a full member, and Spring 2009 and january 2010 Manzana toured Europe again, on Female Fronted Rock Metal Tour 2009& 2010 and also headlined a Latvijan Music Magazine " Atrak Un Skalak" s Halloween Tour. Latest album " Industrial Hippies " was released in November 2010 by Tuupa Records, and by leaving their former deal with Dynamic Arts Manzana also made a comeback to Playgroundmusic. Manzana toured Europe the 4th time in September-October 2010, and successfull tour consisted 10 countries and started to really pay off for the thousands of miles in the bus by getting crowded shows and fans travelling after the bus from show to show. In Finland, Manzana performed on 2010 with bands like Sparzanza and Lullacry, and Piritta appeared on radios and the biggest music program in Finland, Tartu Mikkiin. Manzana is profiled as high-octane live performer, and they believe in old fashioned Rock´n Roll and do it yourself- thinking , which means playing every show at any place, and not sitting in the studio complaining about producers and other bands.
